When an institute is an autonomous body (meaning it is not affiliated to any university)and conducts management courses,then such an Institute cannot offer an MBA degree*.Instead,it award a Post -Graduate Diploma in Management  (PGDM) or a post -graduate Diploma in Business Administration.Only universities (foreign or indian) can grant MBA degree. MDI gurgaon,SP JIMR Mumbai,XLRI,etc. offer only a diploma.
